At their annual cheese contest, The authoritative Deutsche Landwirtschafts Gesellschaft (DLG) awarded four gold medals to Beemster cheeses, namely Beemster Medium, Beemster Aged, Beemster X-O- and Beemster Royaal. At CONO Cheesemakers we strongly believe in the traditional preparation and natural ripening of our cheeses.
This requires great expertise and high-quality milk. Both are essential for the superb taste of our cheeses. The exceptional quality of the milk is mostly achieved by the cows grazing outdoors, exceeding 95%. This high percentage is the result of Caring Dairy programme in which all our farmers participate. The programme aims for 'Happy Cows, Happy Planet and Happy Farmers and naturally the ultimate goal: happy consumers. Winning these prizes emphasizes the programme's succes says Eric Hult, Managing Director of CONO Kaasmakers.
